Andy Street was elected as first Mayor of the West Midlands in May 2017 and represents around 2.8 million people across the region.    The role brings with it significant powers and influence over some of the biggest issues affecting people’s lives in the West Midlands and whilst Andy Street’s powers primarily include economic growth, transport, housing, skills and jobs, he also plays a part in homelessness and rough sleeping, youth unemployment, community cohesion and air quality.

The Mayor also serves as an advocate and global ambassador for the West Midlands region, helping to build trade links and attract inward investment.  Andy will talk about the WMCA’s achievements so far and share with us his future ambitions and plans for the region.
