Coventry Transport Museum houses the largest publicly owned collection of British vehicles in the world and tells the story of Coventry through the rise and fall of its biggest industry.
We will hear about the history and background to the Museum including the current exhibition “Taxi: the Story from A to B”. Black cabs have been continuously manufactured in Coventry since the 1940s and are exported across the world. The exhibition spans three centuries, starting with the first cab to be used on the streets of London in 1897 through to an early example of an electric vehicle. Following our lunch and talk we will have an opportunity to look around the exhibition.
