Priory St Coventry
CV1 5FB
We will meet at St Michael’s House, Coventry Cathedral, 11 Priory Row, Coventry CV1 5EX
Coventry Cathedral is now one of the world’s oldest religious-based centres for reconciliation and its work in recent decades has involved it in some of the world’s most difficult and long-standing areas of conflict. We will hear from Mary Gregory, Canon of Arts and Reconciliation who will host our visit and share the Cathedral’s story before we have a guided tour. James Holden, formerly the Managing Director of one of our member firms and now a deacon, will outline the work that the Diocese does with the local business community and share plans for future business engagement.
We will start our visit by meeting at The Brandt Suite in St. Michael’s House, an early 18th. century townhouse which was rebuilt and restored after extensive bomb damage; formerly the Cathedral Deanery, St Michael’s House is not usually open to the public.
At midday there will be a Cathedral service led by Mary Gregory, our visit host. This religious ceremony is a Litany of Reconciliation which started post war and is a continuing daily part of Coventry’s history www.coventrycathedral.org.uk/reconciliation/reconciliation-ministry. Any lunch guests who would like to arrive early and attend would be most welcome, there is no need to book for this part of the event.
